Aimee Petkus
In the work of Aimee Petkus, the stones, rocks, and minerals that she uses are the basis for her designs. Many of these stones used in her work have been dug out of the ground and then cut, shaped, and polished by her skilled hands. She then crafts the metal that holds the stones by hand.
Each piece of jewelry she crafts is one-of-a-kind work based on a one-of-a-kind stone.
Aimee Petkus started out as an environmental consultant after getting a bachelor's degree in geology from Colorado State University. After several years in that world, she changed paths and got a second bachelor's degree is in metals and jewelry from the Savannah College of Art and Design.
