Mia Hebib is the woman behind Oblik Atelier, a line that explores a 360-degree view of jewelry art and design.
Bosnian born, raised in Croatia, Mia started her jewelry education at the School for Applied Arts and Design in Zagreb. In 1996, she moved to the United States and in 2001 she received a Bachelor of Fine Art degree in Metals and Jewelry from the Savannah College of Art and Design.
Mia’s professional career started in NYC in 2001 with corporate design roles at Liz Claiborne, Henri Bendel and BCBGeneration. She is currently consulting with the legendary iconic American jewelry artist Robert Lee Morris.
In 2007 Mia founded Oblik Atelier; a jewelry studio that brought Mia back to metal-smithing, allowed her to create in a more intimate environment and to revisit her fine art roots and connect them to her invaluable experience in the corporate design world. Oblik Atelier jewelry is thus forging an alliance between fashion and art. The jewelry designs are miniature hand produced wearable sculptures. They are bold, yet elegant, defined through sinuous lines, architectural forms and explorations in shapes, rhythm and play of positive and negative space.
Mia’s work has been published in the New York Post, Elle, Vogue, InStyle UK, New York Times Magazine, Lark Books publications, I-D Magazine to name a few.
