Size Guide

When: Saturday, Nov 23th, Noon - 4pm

Where: Balefire Goods, 7417 Grandview, Arvada, CO 80002

What: Copper is thought to have an energizing quality. Splashing the 2,200-degree metal into water or organic material (i.e. straw or pine needles) creates a unique shape that can never be reproduced. Each piece is created through the union of human energy, fire, and natural metals. Class is open to all who want to learn broom and water casting to make ornaments, no prior jewelry or metalsmithing knowledge needed. Making your own unique ornament provides a personal touch. Each piece of art evokes different representations to the individual: It’s like magic.

From Metropolitan State College of Denver, he earned a BFA in Art: Jewelry Design and Metalsmithing. Chapin is a Colorado native inspired by nature and the magic of metals. Metalsmithing is the process of telling stories through metal, releasing the inner “feeling” of what metal wants to be. “Swing that hammer, light that torch, and make that magic happen”.
