How did you and your significant other meet?

Our parents met in 1999, but we met in 2004 in 4th grade when we moved to California at the same time. We dated in middle school and then didn't speak to each other for a few years. We happened to go to the same new years party in 2014, and we have been together ever since.

As a couple, what are your interests/hobbies?

We greatly enjoy cooking together, hiking, and traveling the world.

When did you know your partner was “the one” and you wanted to get married?

I don't know if there was a single moment, but I just woke up one day and wanted to spend the rest of my life with the man who makes me laugh everyday.

What is one of your favorite things about your partner?

His generosity and kindness towards other people.

What was your proposal like (was the ring a surprise or was it collaborative)?

We had talked about having the ring made together, but he surprised me and had it made at Balefire. He proposed in Old Towne Arvada and then we went together to pick up the ring. It was the set up and ring!

Tell us about your wedding (if it has happened yet).

Our wedding happened in November and it was perfect. It was just filled with dancing, laughter, and love. We got married at the Oxford Hotel and used all locally owned businesses for our vendors.

Why did you decide to work with Balefire?

We walked into Balefire a few years ago and just loved the variety of styles they have. Most importantly, I have always felt like they truly care about making their customers happy and finding exactly what fits them.

What advice would you give to other couples shopping for wedding or engagement rings?

Get exactly what you want, no matter what traditions says. I have a salt and pepper diamond and I love it deeply.

Anything else you want to share?

We just want to thank Balefire for all the help they have given us. We are a pretty untraditional couple and I was so worried that we wouldn't find what we were looking for. They helped us find exactly what we wanted and we have been going to Balefire for all our jewelry wants/needs, as well as wall art, candles, and espresso cups.
